Here are a couple more completed units from the excellent recently released Late Imperial Legion.
As before, I have replaced their hasta spears with wire examples from Crusader Minatures, although the minatures are made from pretty hard plastic, the result of new toolings and improved manufacturing materials.
Two-figure archer skirmisher unit, three identical sprues provide a total of thirty-six troops.
The fledgling legion... problem is, my attention is now swayed again onto three other distractions...oh well...
Regards,
Monty
Fantastic! I thought they're 28 mm! Stunning!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Yori - you are very kind mate...
ReplyDeleteVery good work, great paintjobs.
ReplyDeleteCheers Angry - nice one...

Monty
Nice figures and top painting Monty,
ReplyDeleteSo many great plastic figures out now.
Cheers
Paul
Fantastic, Monty! I wasn't sure about this set, judging from some negative reviews I've seen, but you have made them look brilliant. How well would they match with the HaT cavalry sets? I'm thinking they might be noticeably larger.
ReplyDeleteExcellent painting Monty! I really like your basing as well.
ReplyDeleteWonderful paintjob! Thumbs up!
ReplyDeleteTerrific work mate!!!
ReplyDeleteDid you use Army painters' Dip?
T.
Hmmm, what can I say? All the other comments say it all.
ReplyDeleteSmashing!
Thanks for the kind comments, chaps :D
ReplyDeleteThanks, they have Army Painter Strong Tone brushed on and have been dry-brushed before a matt varnish finish.
Not sure about the Hat cavalry Alanus, sorry...Italeri also have Gothic cavalry though.
Regards all,
Monty
Whoops! Sorry Thanos, my phone's spell checker changed your name...apologies for the typo!
ReplyDeleteYeah nice Monty, any plans for a game with those?
ReplyDeleteThanks Al:D maybe sometime in the future...although (typically) my attention has drifted back to skirmishing...drat!
ReplyDeleteGreat looking unit mate.
ReplyDeleteCheers Paul
ReplyDeleteNice work!
ReplyDeleteOnce upon a time I thought of 15mm (metal) as the only ancients scale
Now 20mm plastics (+ painting like yours) and 28mm large plastics (Army Painter) are driving me to want to paint the big boys
