Perry ACW Before & After Comparisons

Just a quick comparison of my first sprue of Perry ACW, hopefully showing how easy it is to paint to a reasonable standard using the new Army Painter.

As mentioned previously this is my first encounter with plastics, 28mm & Perry; all favourable, I have to say.

Before, following clean up, assembly and initial basing:

And after, painted, dipped in strong shade, matt varnished and flocked:

Finally, a quick skirmish line of Johnny Rebs...

I enjoyed painting these Perrys and in my limited recent experience would recommend them; they are 'small' compared to some other manufacturers' 28mm figures, though highly detailed and well-proportioned.

More to follow!

All the best,

Monty

  2. Hi Monty - thanks for linking to my blog on yours, I have done the same :)

I have a box of Perry ACW plastics that I got at Salute and painted some this week using the Army Painter system as well. I plan to blog about it in a few days. If you don't mind I will direct people over here to look at your photos as I think they look great. Are you going to do more ACW stuff or are you going to move on to something else?

Anyway all the best and keep the updates coming!

  3. Nice One, Josh - thanks,

Just got back into hobby after a long time, so it's 'kid in a sweet shop' time at the moment. I going to have a go at some 28mm Bolt Action WW2 German paras next, but will return to ACW as I like the period. Also Warlord Romans; I will post some of my old stuff soon -just dug them out of deep storage. Off to Yorkshire to see the girlfriend for Easter now - have a good'un mate.
    Best wishes,

    Monty
