Been playing this a lot lately and this Armchair General video gives a good introduction to the game's tactical depth (annoying - fire superiority - voice aside) and comparative realism.
Having played many WW2 computer simulations over the years, this series, since its inception in 2000, stands out as an engrossing and accurate interpretation of Second World War combat.
Bizarrely, playing it has got me back into a Crossfire mood again and I'm drifting towards yet another project; this time 15mm PSC armies for use with these classic Arty Conliffe rules...although time will tell...hey ho...
That's it for now,
Monty
Jeez, that guys voice really grates on you eh? ... Looks a cool game though.
ReplyDeleteLol - I know what you mean, Steve - it is a 'proper' wargame though ;)
DeleteHave you tried the ipad version yet Monty?
ReplyDeleteLooks cool. Some good advice for Crossfire too! One thing... do your new [Crossfire?] project in the one true scale, not 15mm! 20 mm all the way Bro!

Beccas - I've seen it mate and must admit, it looks good, sadly I don't have an ipad - seemed a prety good reason to get one though...
ReplyDeleteNick - lol I love 1/72 scale, but I'm always trying to squeeze games into smaller space and 15mm seems a good option - it could be worse; I was considering 6mm :S!
That looks like a wonderful distraction!
ReplyDeleteIt's a good game Michael, between my sporadic painting :)
